Pomoculture

Oranges

Oranges are one of the most popular fruits in Kenya and globally, thanks to their refreshing taste and versatility. Whether they are consumed fresh, juiced, or used in processed products like jams and marmalades, oranges hold high market value. For farmers, this translates into a profitable crop with consistent demand.

Mangoes

Mango farming can be a profitable agricultural venture in Kenya, offering the potential for significant income generation and improved livelihoods. A farmer with 500 mango trees can earn approximately Ksh 375,000 (3,640 US$) per season29.

Peaches

Peaches can grow in all parts of the country. The management techniques, however, vary depending on the position, location, and climatic conditions.

Floriculture

Tulips

Their flower buds are known for being perfectly symmetrical. They are the 11th wedding anniversary flower. Tulip petals are edible and can be used to replace onions in many recipes or even to make wine. At the peak of the tulip mania, the flowers were worth more than diamonds.

Roses

Unrivalled diversity of colour, size and shape. Roses are the most diverse plant family imaginable, coming in many different flower forms, colours and sizes. Ranging in height from just a foot (30cm) to 6ft (18m), there is a variety to suit almost every garden situation.

Daisy

The sweet simplicity and genuine beauty of the daisy have made the flower an international emblem of innocence and purity. Its fresh, crisp appearance has come to symbolize new beginnings, and its bright, spirit-lifting colors are known to spread happiness like wildfire.

Olericulture

Kales

Kale (Brassica oleraceae var acephala), commonly known as Sukumawiki, belongs to the Brassicas family and is very easy to grow. In Kenya, the demand for kales is very high due to their nutritional value.

Maize

To my fellow farmers, you too can achieve 36 bags of maize from 1 acre ! I share this story not to boast but to inspire. Agriculture is a journey of constant learning and adaptation.

Wheat

Wheat is a group of wild and domesticated grasses of the genus Triticum (/ˈtrɪtɪkəm/). They are cultivated for their cereal grains, which are staple foods around the world. Well-known wheat species and hybrids include the most widely grown common wheat (T. aestivum), spelt, durum, emmer, einkorn, and Khorasan or Kamut.
