Macronutrients

n

Nitogenous(N)

Nitrogen fertilizers typically come in one of these forms: nitrate (NO3), ammonia (NH3), ammonium (NH4), or urea (CH4N2O). Every form has its own unique properties that dictate the specific conditions and methods for using it.Many metabolic processes in plants and animals rely on nitrogen. Perhaps the best-known role of N is in forming amino acids, which make up the building blocks of protein..

p

Phosphate(P)

For corn and small grain production, the needed phosphate fertilizer can be: Broadcast and incorporated before planting. Applied in a band away from the seed row as a starter fertilizer at planting. Directly on the seed at planting, if small amounts are needed.

K

Potassium(K)

Increases root growth and improves drought resistance. Maintains turgor; reduces water loss and wilting. Aids in photosynthesis and food formation. Reduces respiration, preventing energy losses.Potassium influences fruit quality through its effects on sugar accumulation (soluble solid levels), acidity, size, appearance, and color. Fruiting vegetables such as cantaloupes, watermelons, and tomatoes have high potassium requirements as do fruit crops such as grapes, peaches, and strawberries..

Application methods

b1

Broadcasting

Broadcasting spreads fertilizer across the soil surface. Broadcast fertilizer can be left on the soil surface or incorporated by a tillage operation after application. With incorporation, these nutrients are mixed into the surface layer of the soil where root interception is more likely to occur.>

Drone application

Drones for crop management can cover 50 to 100 hectares per day, offering a significant advantage over traditional methods. They also reduce fertilizer and pesticide use by up to 30%, leading to cost savings and environmental benefits.

Foliar method

The application of liquid fertilizers directly to the leaf surface by using spraying method is known as foliar application. The leaves can easily and directly absorb the nutrients through their stomatal openings and also through the epidermis. This will be an effective method of fertilization
