Black Forest Cake Recipe

Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and vegetable oil until light and fluffy.
Add in the milk, vanilla extract, and mix well.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until smooth.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
For the Whipped Cream Filling:
2 cups heavy cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 jar (about 400g) of sour cherries in syrup
In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
Fold in vanilla extract.
Drain the sour cherries and set the syrup aside for soaking the cake layers.
Layer the cakes, spreading whipped cream between each layer and top with cherries.
